Divine Foundation, started by Leera Dias, Susan Fernandes and Hanumantha Gawde , aims to create a better society by empowering women and the youth from marginalized sections and guide them to fulfill their potential. With a combined experience of over 30 years working with NGOs across Mumbai, the foundation has 3 focus areas – Educating and Mentoring children and the youth, health and sanitation for Women, upskilling, and medical check-up camps for Women.

 

Currently, with a team strength of 7, the foundation is working within the poorer section located near Borivali and Dahisar, Mumbai. Set out with a mission to provide access to basic healthcare, education, and empowering a sustainable lifestyle among the poorest sections of society, the foundation calls upon your help, in any form.

Our mission is to provide, the poorest communities within society, access to healthcare, education, sanitation, upskill, and basic needs in order to help them to improve their standard of living.

Leera Dias

Leera Dias has over 15 years of experience counseling & moulding youth and children across various slums in Mumbai. She always had a desire to work for the children and youth to help empower them with education, counsel them in despair, and guide them to a better future. Her work has involved educating the youth, counseling those in extreme circumstances,  providing assistance during floods, volunteering, distributing food, and essentials among the poor. She also focuses on helping women from poorer sections of society take up various courses that help to upskill them.

Susan Fernandes

Susan Fernandes has over 30 years of experience as a teacher which she desires to put to use to help to educate the youth from poorer sections of society. Apart from being actively involved in community activities, she has also volunteered with multiple NGO's. She's worked with women groups, communities, and children to help them learn skills and develop their personalities.

Hanumantha Gawde

Hanumantha Gawde has been working for over 30 years with young boys and the youth amongst the fisher folks of Mumbai. He has worked with multiple street children to help them get food, clothing, shelter, education, and guidance for their future. His past work involves with the National Adult Education Programmer for Bombay University and his association with Nirmala Niketan.
