Celebrating The Women Of Today - Divine Foundation Women's Day Celebration 2021

Women's Day 2021, was a special day for all of us at the Divine Foundation. We saw this as an opportunity to conduct a fun workshop cum function cum party for the women from the slums of Ganpat Patil, Dahisar West at the Ghosalkar community center near YMCA grounds IC colony. The evening of 9th March 2021 began at 05:30 pm when our gracious and charismatic emcee - Mrs. Rolin Furtado opened the evening with gusto and positivity. All the women were welcomed with a rose and the event began with an introduction of the trustees of the Divine Foundation. Furthermore, the trustees shared the mission of the Divine Foundation and outlined the scheduled activities and plan to empower the women of Ganpat Patil Nagar.

One of our special guests of the evening was Dr. Vandana Shelke, BMC Doctor RN Ward, Mumbai. She was greeted with a warm welcome and homegrown plants by the team.

Dr. Shelke provided the women with great insight on the importance of women's hygiene during menstruation and she helped the women understand the best practices they must follow during menstruation.

Later in the evening, our chief guests, Mr. Abhishek Ghosalkar and Mrs. Tejasvee Ghosalkar, Corporator addressed the crowd. They graciously shared their thoughts on the on-going initiatives undertaken by the local administration for the women of the area. They highlighted many issues and assured the women of a quick resolution to all their problems. The women then came forward and participated in many games and had a dance session as well! This was the highlight of the evening to watch the women thoroughly enjoy themselves. The evening ended with a vote of thanks and a scrumptious box of light snacks.
